Tutor Training

“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.”

Volunteers – A Gift to the Community!

Literacy Volunteers of Central CT will offer training for people*
interested in tutoring students to speak English.

The English for Students of Other Languages (ESOL) training session will be held on all of the following dates: November 6, 9, 13, 16 (6-8:30PM) at the First Church of Christ Congregational, New Britain.

If you have a background as an educator you may qualify to waive this tutor training.

Literacy Volunteers of Central CT provides small group and one-on-one literacy tutoring to over 350 low literate adults, using student centered instruction and mentoring from volunteer tutors who receive high quality training and ongoing support.

Join our team of volunteers* and experience how tutoring in your community helps adults and families improve their lives through literacy.
