Literacy Volunteers* of Central CT Volunteer Opportunities

“helping people improve their lives through English literacy”

Requires completion of training in English as a Second Language and/or Basic Literacy.

Math Tutor
Ability to teach basic skills to Algebra.  Math assessment required and attendance at an LVCC program observation.

Family Literacy Center
Volunteer at our Family Literacy Center with children ages 6 months – 3 years.  Must be available during week day mornings.  Orientation and background check required.  For more information, click here:  Volunteers Needed for CCFLC

Conversation Group Facilitator
Completion of tutor training and ability/ desire to work with a larger class.

Board of Directors
Community connections and ability to assist in the governance of the organization. Elected by the Board of Directors.

*Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
