About Us

Each year we provide small group and one-on-one literacy tutoring to over 350 adults. We provide flexible hours, individual attention, student centered learning, and high quality, caring volunteer tutors.  We provide free, high quality training to adults who would like to become Literacy Volunteers.

Here is a sampling of our students’ achievements:

* 52  students entered employment
* 145 students retained employment
* 9 students received their GED/diploma or other certification
*26 students increased their involvement in community activities
* 7 obtained citizenship/achieved citizenship skills
* 59 students increased their involvement in their children’s educational activities
* 20 entered other education/training
* 293 students improved their reading and writing skills
* 170 improved their survival skills

We provide free, high quality training to adults who would like to become Literacy Volunteers. Many of our volunteers tell us that being a Literacy Volunteer is the best thing they have ever done. Not only are they helping others, but their lives are greatly enriched through the relationships they develop with their students.
